Shekou sweethearts

Shekou has a 'red light' district. Actually, not really. As it is part of the World's factory (Shenzhen) and has a port, it has merchant seamen and factory workers all over the place. So yes, there are 'working girls' - in the athletic sense of the expression. There is also the 'gauntlet', which a street lined with hostess bars on both sides. Walking from the restaurant back to the hotel, one has to 'run the gauntlet'. Or in our case, stroll. As we did so, an enthusiastic, devoted - and clearly drunk - employee of such a hostess bar launched herself at me...or rather, she dived, missed, splatted on the ground with not inconsiderable force, obliging me to help her to her feet, thus distracting me, while another ambushed one of my colleagues. Kristof, of course, just stood there and watched - camera in hand.

This was a bit much, as my meeting earlier that day started at 10am, and finished at 8pm, with an hour or so for lunch - and we then had to drive from Bantian to Shekou.
