Archive hour

High food prices will stay for a decade, would-be citizen's arresters demonstrate their technique at Hay and Gordon Brown continues to have the luck of Charlie Brown.

Ideas for poems are rearing their head again, yet Old Father Time tightens his grip on my nuts (not altogether uncomfortable).

I was thinking about Mike's son and his diagnosis. Reminded me of the illness and my meeting with Dr. Ho:

'Perhaps it's your brain
That's giving you this trouble?'

Haha, my life's bane
- The possibility threatens to burst my bubble

I refuse to go home slain
Instead, I make a note: the will to fight, must redouble

'Son of Rambow'

A lovely little film. While younger folk will probably enjoy it, those in their mid thirties will get much more out of it - the impact that 'Rambo' had on kids back then, VCRs, pirate videos at places like Blackbushe market, Fred Perry t-shirts, Brian Trueman and 'Screen Test', etc. It didn't mention the Falklands War which happened in '82, around the time of Rambo's release, and didn't even have clips of 'Junior Kickstart'! But i'm being anal (not in the prostate massaging sense).

It was a shame to see only two other people (boy and girl, about 14yo) at the screening apart from me and the iPod Perv (granted, it was a Thursday evening, but still...) and I suspect they were baffled by our laughter.

Sense, smears and nonsense

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear.

Meanwhile, the price of food is rising, as well as oil and other commodities, and there are an awful lot of people in the Irrawaddy Delta without a paddle - or food, shelter, medicine. Please donate to your favourite charity or go to the Disasters Emergency Committee. After all, it's your World.

Daddy, what did Uncle Hawkes do in the Battle of King's Meadow?

Well, mostly he drank.
